Passing and Catching

Today we practised how to catch and pass.

Catch is where you make both of your hands into and W.

Next for passing you will need to make a W with both of your hands so you could catch the ball easily.

First we got into 3 groups and one of us got a ball. After that person grabbed the ball we needed to practise throwing the ball to the two people from across us.

Then we played a game called octopus. Before we played Miss White picked 2 people to be the tagger. The taggers needed to say something like if you have long hair run and they have to try and tag the people running.

Lastly Miss White picked people to go into group one or group 2. After getting into 2 groups we needed to pick one person to be in the middle to pass the ball to the people in a circle and Miss White picked a number for us teams to do and for the first round my team won but the other rounds it was a tie between my team and the other team on the other half of the field. The point in the game was to not drop the ball as we had to start again. We had to be the first team to sit down.

I enjoyed practising how to catch and pass because it was really easy and simple. I did well on all of the games but not octopus because there was a line of people and I couldn’t get past them. I need to improve on thinking faster on octopus so that I could pass people and win the game.

Polite Emails

Today we learned about online etiquette.

First we needed to think of what greeting to write on the polite email.

Last we needed to think of what to write for the subject, greetings, body, farewell, and signature.

I enjoyed doing this task because it was simple and easy. I did well on writing the diagram text because it was really easy and simple to write. I need to improve on guessing what the subject is.

Procedural Text

A Procedural texts tell people how to do somthing in steps.

The structure of a procedural text is remebered by using TEMPS.

T stands for Title

E stands for End result

M stands for Matireal

P stands for Picture

S stands for Steps

A procedrual text tells you how to do something in order of steps.

World War 1

This week we learned about world war 1.

First we got our headphones and watched and listened to find the key words. The key word I was trying to find was Lice and Rats.

Next we needed to write the events and effects. For example the rat is the size of a cat and lice gets inside of people’s clothes and rats also eat people’s dead bodies.

Lastly we made sure everything was right before blogging it.

I enjoyed this task because we needed to look for keywords. I did well on spotting the keywords in the videos and finding them on the website. I think I need to improve on writing less so the other writings can fit.

T- Ball Skills

We have revised and learned some new skills. The skills are hitting, running, and throwing.

First we got warmed up by playing a game called noodle tag. Noodle tag is like hitting someone with a bat but with a noodle. When you get tagged you have to stand on one leg and hold your balance and count up to ten. If you lose your balance then you have to start from zero.

Next coach Cameron taught us how to ball and a good position to ball. First he told us to put the bat up to our belly button, and to keep our legs apart.

Lastly played t ball but we switched teams and played against those teams.

I enjoyed doing this task because hitting and running is my favourite part. I think I’m good at batting because I made the ball kinda far. I think I did well on running because it took some people to throw the ball to someone. I need to improve on fielding because I need to spread out more and try to catch the ball and throw it to someone close to one of the bases or tag them with the ball.

Identifying Fraction

This week we learnt about Identifying fractions. Fraction is an object that is split into two equal pieces.

First we got some paper and made them into fractions. The fraction we were doing were one half, one thirds, One fifth, two thirds, and two fifths.

Thirds is a fraction that has three pieces in total, but only has two.

Fifths is a fraction thast has five pieces in total, but only has four.

Next we took photos of our fractions that we made and typed what fraction it was.

I enjoyed this task because my favourite part was folding it and cutting the paper. I need to improve on getting fast at finishing my fractions. I think I did well on folding the paper into the fractions.

The 4 c’s

This week we played a game and we tried to use the 4 c’s.

The four c’s of Leadership are co-operation, collaboration, communication, and confidence.

First we discussed which one of the green words that we wrote on our body outline were the 4 c’s.

Next we made a plan using the 4 c’s that will help us do good in the game.

Then we used the plan in the game to see how much it worked out .

Lastly we played the game using our strategy and it kinda worked.

We enjoyed this task because we all loved this game and want to play again. We need to improve on using the communication in games.
